Quarter 1
The Cubs win the opening sprint, work the ball around, and earn a man advantage but fail to capitalize on the opportunity. They win the ball back quickly, however, and score the match’s opening goal. Another steal leads to an easy goal for the Cubs as Agliozzo had nobody near him for the finish. The Cubs force a second ejection and earn a third goal against the feeble-looking opposition. Yet another steal right out of the gate gives the Cubs another easy finish one on one with the goalie. The Cubs come down with some easy ball movement out of the goal and score the fifth of the period. Loyola force another St. Francis ejection but a fumbled ball from the center gives away the opportunity. Mueller, the keeper gives a great pass down the pool to a wide open Reynolds for another Cub goal. Out of the goal, the Cubs steal the ball back easily to convert once more. A quick pass up the pool leads to a pass to the center who is wide open for the eighth score of the period. Good pressure leads to an easy steal and subsequent goal for Thomas. The Cubs suffer their first ejection of the game and another one straight away. The opposition, however, is extremely wasteful and doesn’t capitalize. A Saint Francis ejection on the other side shows that the Cubs don’t make the same mistake, scoring their 10th goal of the opening period. The Cubs manage to get a shot off with 1 second left on the quarter clock and notch the 11th and final score of the opening quarter.

Quarter 2
The Cubs again win the sprint and immediately force a Saint Francis ejection. Coach Healy calls a quick timeout, makes a sub, and the Cubs score for the first time this quarter after moving the ball around the entire pool. The Cubs defense stifles a man into a turnover which leads to an easy conversion for the home team. The Cubs force another Saint Francis ejection and find the back of the net once more. The Cubs receive their third ejection of the match but manage to keep the Knights off the board even still. The Cubs come back down the other way and convert another easy goal with one man against only the keeper. The Cubs make a plethora of substitution and score immediately thereafter. The Cubs force an ejection again and score yet again for the the 17th time this game. Coach Healy calls a timeout to give his team a chance to work on a play from which the Cubs score immediately. A few possessions go by without incident as the Cubs only manage a shot off the post but quickly turn things around with another score. The Cubs receive an ejection but the Knights again fail to make use of the man advantage. The Cubs come back down the other way and work the ball around for another bucket, the 20th of the match. The Cubs take another ejection and this time the Knights manage to convert for the first time of the game.

Quarter 3
The Cubs reach the ball first off the opening sprint for the third quarter in a row but don’t convert the possession into a score. The game has slowed significantly as the Cubs are less aggressive in their scoring approach. The home team manages to force another Saint Francis ejection but the Cubs fail to find the back of the net. The Cubs force another ejection and this time find a man in the middle for an easy finish, the first goal of the second half. The Cubs take an ejection in order to prevent a sure Saint Francis goal and manage to escape the man disadvantage unscathed as the opposition fails to score. On the other end, the Cubs force another ejection giving them a 6 on 5 that they immediately take advantage of with the 22nd score of the game. Saint Francis receives another ejection, and the Cubs use the advantage to strike the top right corner of the goal for an easy score.

Quarter
The Cubs win the last of the opening sprints but hit the bar with the shot they produce. The Cubs find the back of the net again, this time with Mackel. The Cubs steal the ball back from the Knights and win a penalty. Thomas takes the penalty and converts with 4:20 left in the game. The Cubs get another easy one with only the goalie left to defend. The Cubs force another ejection and Engstrom scores a no-look to the near post of the keeper. The Cubs suffer an ejection but not a goal as they take care of business defensively.
