A pair of Loyola seniors—soccer midfielder Henry Smith-Hastie ’19 and basketball forward James Keefe ’19—were named to the All-CIF Southern Section Division I First Team, released on Monday (Mar. 18) and presented by the LA84 Foundation.
Henry Smith-Hastie ’19 • Sr. • 6-1 • MF
Smith-Hastie, a four-year Varsity starter on the soccer team, earned All-CIF Division I honors thanks to an impressive senior season in which he led the Cubs in goals (17), assists (16) and total points (50). Smith-Hastie was one of 22 student-athletes across the Southland to be named First Team All-CIF. The SMU signee and team captain was recently named Mission League MVP after Loyola (24-2-2) went unbeaten in league to claim the conference crown.
James Keefe ’19 • Sr. • 6-9 • F
Keefe was one of 10 players selected to the All-CIF Division I Boys Basketball Team after leading the Cubs to a regular season conference championship and finishing near the top of the competitive Mission League in points (15.6 ppg), rebounds (10.8 rpg) and blocks (1.4 bpg). The Stanford signee had 16 double-doubles to his name as the Cubs advanced to the CIF Quarterfinals, finishing the year at 23-7 overall.
Congratulations to our Cub seniors on this CIF honor!
