Following yesterday’s third place finish at the Servite Invitational, the Loyola Varsity Golf team downed Crespi today (Tuesday, Feb. 26) by a score of 193-211 to win its first Mission League contest of the year at Braemar Country Club. Pacing the Cubs were seniors Justin Wallender ’19 and Daniel Nunez ’19, who both shot even (par 37).
The JV squad also won earlier today, defeating Harvard-Westlake 218-261 at Wilson Golf Course. The match against the Wolverines was the first of the season for the JV team, who was led by a team-low 40 shot by freshman Charlie O’Donnell '22.
The Varsity Cubs will be at it again tomorrow afternoon (Feb. 27), hosting Windward at Wilson & Harding GC. JV will also compete tomorrow, visiting Los Alamitos HS at Navy Golf Course in Cypress at 2:30 p.m.
