Two Loyola Football alums and recent University of Wyoming graduates―Nico Evans ’14 (pictured far left) and Adam Pilapil ’14 (pictured far right)―were honored by the National Football Foundation as members of the 2019 Hampshire Society on Wednesday (Apr. 9).
To qualify for selection to the Hampshire Honor Society, senior football players must hold a minimum 3.20 cumulative GPA, meet all NCAA progress towards degree requirements and must have been a starter or significant contributor to their team.
Both Evans (3.36 GPA) and Pilapil (3.3 GPA) recently competed their undergraduate studies at Wyoming, majoring in communication. The former Cubs had breakout senior seasons in Laramie, with Evans being named First Team All-Mountain West at RB after finishing fourth in the nation in rushing (132.5 jpg). Pilapil, too, contributed to the team’s success, playing multiple positions (defense, special teams) in 38 career games for the Cowboys. Evans and Pilapil were two of four Wyoming players to earn distinction from the NFF.
