Loyola’s Varsity and Junior Varsity Track & Field teams begin their seasons this weekend with the annual Blue & White Meet, set for Saturday (Feb. 16) on Smith Field. Though just an intrasquad scrimmage, action between the JV and Varsity squad is slated for a 9-10:00 a.m. start, dependent on the weather.

The Cubs will then host their first official dual meet of the new year on Thursday (Feb. 21) at 3:15 p.m. when the Chaminade Eagles visit Smith Field.

A week later, Loyola will travel down to Mission Hills for a road dual meet against the Alemany Warriors, also set for a 3:15 p.m. start.

In 2018, the Loyola Track & Field team finished as Mission League runner-up, while also setting a school record in the 4x800 relay. Loyola's 4x400, 4x1600m and Distance medley relay teams were ranked in the Top 10 in the State, while most recently winning a CIF Championship in 2013.
