After Loyola's Varsity Baseball team finished the regular season with a 17-11 overall record, the Cubs earned a wildcard entry into the 2019 CIF-SS Ford Division II Baseball Playoffs, as announced by the CIF Southern Section Committee on Monday morning (Apr. 29).
Loyola will travel over to Westlake Village on Wednesday (May 1) to take on Oaks Christian (Marmonte League/14-15 overall) in the opening wildcard game, with first pitch set for 3:15 p.m. The winner advances to the CIF First Round, matching up against Agoura HS (Coastal Canyon League/20-9 overall) on Friday (May 3) in Agoura Hills. A potential CIF Second Round game is scheduled for Tuesday (May 7).
The Cubs and head coach Sean Buller finished fourth in the grueling Mission League and will look to secure the program’s third CIF title in school history (1954, 2007).
