Wednesday’s rain left the greens slick at Griffith Park earlier this afternoon (Mar. 20), but it was sophomore Justin Lee’s hot hand that steered the Varsity Golf team to victory at the first Mission League Tournament of the year over at Wilson & Harding GC.
The Cubs posted a team score of 367 to finish first among all Mission League schools. Lee ’21 went 4-under 68 on the day, junior Brian Arnold ’20 shot even (72) and senior Justin Wallender ’19 was 2-over (74). Sophomore Timmy Von Der Ahe ’21 (76) and junior Joshua Yoo ’20 (77) rounded out Loyola’s scorecard.
A week break is now in order for the Cubs, who will next match up with Woodrow Wilson HS in Long Beach on Wednesday (Mar. 27) at Recreation Park 18 GC.
