The Cubs were defeated in their final regular-season game by Bishop Amat losing 38-10. The loss puts the Cubs’ final season record to 3-6, excluding the canceled game with Alemany. Bishop Amat was able to outplay the Cubs in the first quarter, scoring two touchdowns and ending the first quarter 14-0. In the second quarter, Bishop Amat scored on a 15-yard run, and P Diego Burgos ‘20 kicked a field goal to put Loyola on the board, the score now 21-3. Bishop Amat scored once again. With less than a minute on the clock, QB Brayden Zermeno ‘21 threw a pass to WR Jacoby Kelly ‘22 for a 19-yard touchdown pass to make the score 28-10 at halftime. In the third quarter, QB Brayden Zermeno completed a long run for a total gain of 18 yards, but the Cubs did not score on the drive. Bishop Amat scored again and the third quarter ended 35-10. In the fourth quarter, Bishop Amat kicked a field goal, setting the final score, 38-10.
