The Cubs come into their match against Hamilton off of spirited 2-0 win against Los Alamitos the day before. They hope to bolster their 3-1 record and prove how much they want it as they come out instantly in attack mode. However, the tide is turned and Hamilton scores a quick goal in the 5th minute making the score 0-1 Hamilton lead. Loyola stays on the offensive through the first twenty minutes of the game looking for a chance to even the score. The rest of the first half both teams go back and forth with solid play, neither team able to score.
The second half begins as a 0-1 lead in favor of Hamilton. Loyola is still on the offensive trying to find an opportunity to score. After multiple corner kicks still no luck for the Cubs. Finally, the Cub’s Jake Rogers scores off of a well placed assist after a corner kick. Loyola keeps that momentum and scores again shortly after from a great strike by Senior Grayson Doody set up by a cross from Junior Nate Smith-Hastie. The score is now 2-1 Loyola! With less than half of the second half left to go in the game. Loyola stays on the attack trying to increase their lead. Loyola keeps possession of the ball for as long as possible to maintain their lead. After a shaky last few minutes, Loyola manages to hold on to their comeback lead and win the game 2-1. Their record for the season is now 4-1.
